Design Brief

Company Profile:
The non-profit organization I have chosen is The Children's Playhouse in Boone, NC. The company's mission is to provide children from birth to age eight with a creative, enriching play space in which they can grow and learn, while also offering their parents and caregivers support in raising their children. This company was founded in 2002 by local Boone residents and has since continued to provide care and support to children and their parents.

Project Goals:
The goals of my design are to create a logo, website, brochure, and poster that are inviting and friendly to children and adults alike. It will be direct and effective in communicating the message, while still maintaining a creative and cheerful vibe. The the challenge is to create designs that both children and adults will respond positively to. They should be unique and promote a sense of community and growing together.

Target Audience:
The target audience is mainly the parents of young children but it should also be appealing to the children as well. It will reach first time parents, as well as those who are experienced in raising a child, single parents, married parents, caregivers, and any adult who needs some support in the area of raising a child.

Design Examples:

I like the idea of playing with shapes and colors to create a simple design that will catch the audience's eye quickly like in the bottom two designs here. I like the use of the colors because they are eye-catching, but they are not too colorful or overdone.

I really like the colors in all these, but in particular the second one on the bottom. I like it's hand done quality paired with the simple type. I would like to design something that is professional but also promotes uniqueness and creativity.
